Plan notes
Useful context before you go
This is a source-faithful, multi-region exploration of Indonesia’s lesser-known landscapes, cultures, wildlife, volcanoes and islands. The journey is best approached as a collection of distinct three-day bases rather than a tightly connected overland route. Prioritize local guides where the source specifically recommends them: Toraja cultural sites, Flores volcano hikes and Tanjung Puting’s klotok journeys. For marine locations, bring reef-safe sunscreen, a dry bag and underwater photography equipment; Raja Ampat is especially suited to underwater photography and wreck diving.
