Plan notes

Useful context before you go

This is a slow, culture-focused route built around the documented five-week Japan journey followed by five days on Jeju Island. Pack comfortable walking shoes, a compact day bag, a rain layer, and a Suica or ICOCA transit card. Reserve major Shinkansen journeys and popular Kyoto attractions ahead of time, use luggage forwarding between major bases, and keep an eSIM or pocket Wi-Fi active for navigation. For Japan, combine rail travel with regional passes only after comparing the individual fares; for Jeju, a rental car is the most flexible option, while buses and taxis work well around the resort area. Jeju is volcanic, with lava tubes, beaches, and hiking opportunities, so bring water shoes and sun protection. The resort, waterfall, bridge, beach, museum, and go-karting recommendations are directly supported by the selected material; the additional Japan stops provide practical connective structure around the documented city and regional video set.
