Plan notes

Useful context before you go

This is a fast-moving beach-adventure plan built around kayaking, steep temple hiking, swimming, island-hopping, caves, lagoons, and dramatic limestone scenery. Pack reef-safe swimwear, dry bags, water shoes, sun protection, insect repellent, and comfortable footwear for the 1,260-plus-step Tiger Cave Temple climb. For the sunrise temple climb, start early to avoid the strongest tropical heat. Railay is reached by boat because there are no roads to the peninsula; staying overnight there lets you experience the beaches after day-trippers leave. Island conditions, sandbar exposure, swimming access, and bioluminescence vary with tides, weather, and darkness, so confirm the day's boat schedule and conditions locally. The supplied creator map is a useful trip-wide planning resource covering beaches, viewpoints, restaurants, and attractions.
