Plan notes
Useful context before you go
This is a source-faithful, high-density Lisbon day for a budget-conscious city traveler and seafood-and-pastry enthusiast. The route is primarily walkable, with steep uphill sections; wear supportive shoes and carry water. A 24-hour Lisboa Card can cover public transport and provide admission or discounts at several attractions, including Jerónimos Monastery, museums, palaces, and selected lifts. Keep the card receipt in case of a magnetic-strip problem. For departures, allow substantial time at Humberto Delgado Airport because the terminal can be very busy. Budget approximately €70–€150 for one traveler excluding flights, depending on hostel choice, attraction spending, and restaurant meals.

What is in this plan
day 1 historic center, Baixa, and Belém
Begin early and keep the day moving on foot. The central sights are close together, but Lisbon's hills make the route physically demanding. Use the Lisboa Card for the metro, buses, tram, Jerónimos admission, and eligible discounts; walking remains practical between the central stops.
