Plan notes

Useful context before you go

This is a culture-focused city trip with an efficient, budget-aware pace: stay in Le Marais, the Latin Quarter, or the 7th arrondissement and use the Metro for most journeys. Reserve timed-entry tickets for the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and Versailles well ahead; a single Metro or bus ride is about €2, while a weekly pass may suit frequent travelers. From Charles de Gaulle, the RER B is roughly €10–€12 and fastest with light luggage; the Roissy bus to Opéra is about €13–€15, while a taxi or rideshare can cost €60–€80. Allow approximately €100–€200 per person per day including accommodation, meals, transport, and admissions, with street baguettes, crêpes, and pastries around €5–€10. Pack comfortable walking shoes, a light rain layer, a reusable water bottle, and a small crossbody bag. Watch for pickpockets and tourist scams around crowded attractions. If traveling during a major summer event, expect construction, higher prices, and long queues; book ahead and substitute neighborhood exploration when landmark access is disrupted.

What is in this plan

Day 1 — Arrival, Le Marais & Historic Paris

Base yourself centrally and keep the first day flexible around arrival. Le Marais is especially useful for boutique shopping, independent galleries, cafés, and an authentic neighborhood feel.

  1. Charles de Gaulle AirportCharles de Gaulle Airport, Roissy-en-France, France

Choose the RER B for the economical direct route into central Paris when traveling light; allow extra time for luggage and verify the current fare before departure.

  2. Saint-Michel Notre-Dame StationSaint-Michel Notre-Dame Station, Paris, France

The RER B arrives near major central hubs including Châtelet–Les Halles and Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame, making it practical for a central hotel.

  3. Le MaraisLe Marais, Paris, France

Settle into Le Marais for easy access to galleries, cafés, vintage stores, and the Seine. Its compact streets reward an unhurried first wander.

  4. Notre-Dame CathedralCathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, 6 Parvis Notre-Dame - Pl. Jean-Paul II, Paris, France

Walk the cathedral exterior and Île de la Cité, especially around golden hour. Restoration work may affect access, but the Gothic façade and riverside setting remain rewarding.

  5. Pont NeufPont Neuf, Paris, France

Cross Paris’s oldest standing bridge and pause for river views toward Île de la Cité. It is a compact historical stop rather than a separate long excursion.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  6. Boulangerie Saint-MichelBoulangerie Saint-Michel, Paris, France

Start with a warm croissant or baguette from a neighborhood boulangerie, then continue on foot; this keeps the arrival day inexpensive and distinctly Parisian.

Day 2 — Louvre, Orsay & Parisian Gardens

Make this the principal museum day. Reserve the Louvre for an early or late timed slot, then use the gardens and Musée d’Orsay to balance indoor concentration with open-air walking.

  1. Louvre MuseumLouvre Museum, Rue de Rivoli, Paris, France

Reserve a timed entry and give the museum at least three to four hours. Enter with a short priority list rather than attempting all collections; the glass pyramid is worth photographing before the crowds build.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  2. Jardin des TuileriesJardin des Tuileries, Paris, France

Use the Tuileries as a decompression walk after the Louvre. The formal paths and sculpture-lined perspectives connect naturally toward Place de la Concorde.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  3. Musée d'OrsayMusée d'Orsay, Paris, France

Visit the former railway station’s Impressionist collection if energy allows. Its large clock and riverside position make it a strong contrast to the Louvre’s palace galleries.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  4. Luxembourg GardensLuxembourg Gardens, Paris, France

Choose a quiet lawn or chair near the Medici Fountain for a picnic of cheese, wine, and baguette. Check park rules before opening wine and leave no food waste.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  5. Latin QuarterLatin Quarter, Paris, France

Use the Latin Quarter for a relaxed dinner and café pause. Its central location makes it a practical alternative to expensive landmark restaurants.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  6. Crêperie Saint-MichelCrêperie Saint-Michel, Rue de la Huchette, Paris, France

Pick up an inexpensive crêpe or sandwich for the evening rather than committing to a costly formal meal; typical street-food portions are around €5–€10.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗

Day 3 — Eiffel Tower, Champs-Élysées & Night Seine

Cluster the western landmarks to avoid backtracking. Book the Eiffel Tower for late afternoon or sunset, arrive early for photography, and reserve the cruise online with at least 15 minutes at the dock.

  1. Eiffel TowerEiffel Tower, Champ de Mars, Paris, France

Book the elevator or guided evening slot in advance. The first floor includes exhibits and a restaurant; the second floor has the strongest city panorama, while the summit delivers a full 360-degree view. Arrive about an hour early for changing light and unobstructed photographs.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  2. Champ de MarsChamp de Mars, Paris, France

Use the Champ de Mars lawn for a grounded view of the tower before your timed entry. It is ideal for wide compositions and a simple picnic, but keep belongings close in crowded periods.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  3. Champs-ÉlyséesAvenue des Champs-Élysées, Paris, France

Walk the 1.9-kilometre avenue toward the Arc de Triomphe. Treat it as a people-watching and architecture route; luxury stores are optional rather than essential.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  4. Arc de TriompheArc de Triomphe, Place Charles de Gaulle, Paris, France

Climb for the panoramic view if the stairs and queue fit your energy. Look back down the avenue and toward the Eiffel Tower around blue hour.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  5. Bateaux Mouches Pont de l'AlmaBateaux Mouches Pont de l'Alma, Port de la Conférence, Paris, France

Take an approximately one-hour panoramic cruise after dark for the best illuminated views of the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre-Dame, and Musée d’Orsay. A standard cruise is about €15–€20; dinner cruises begin around €50.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  6. Port de la BourdonnaisPort de la Bourdonnais, Paris, France

Bring a light jacket and choose an open-air deck when weather permits. Check the riverbanks for live music or a seasonal festival, but treat events as timing-dependent.

Day 4 — Montmartre, Art & Local Neighborhood Life

Use Montmartre and Le Marais as lower-pressure alternatives if major sights are crowded or affected by construction. This day is intentionally more atmospheric, with time for galleries, cafés, and a cooking or wine experience.

  1. Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de MontmartreBasilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre, Paris, France

Explore the hill slowly through side streets and artist studios rather than rushing directly between landmarks. Morning light is gentler and the neighborhood is generally calmer before midday.

  2. Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de MontmartreBasilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre, Paris, France

Visit this white-domed basilica for broad city views from the surrounding steps. Dress respectfully and expect steep streets on the approach.

  3. Rue des RosiersRue des Rosiers, Paris, France

Seek independent galleries and quirky cafés in Le Marais for a more local-feeling cultural break. This is a useful substitute when queues at the Louvre are excessive.

  4. Rue de Bretagne MarketMarché des Enfants Rouges, 39 Rue de Bretagne, Paris, France

Browse Le Marais for vintage finds, small boutiques, and quirky souvenirs rather than concentrating all shopping on the Champs-Élysées.

  5. La Cuisine ParisLa Cuisine Paris, 80 Quai de l'Hôtel de Ville, Paris, France

Book a small French cooking class for a hands-on cultural activity, especially if landmark crowds are unpleasant. Confirm the menu and dietary suitability before paying.

  6. Le Baron RougeLe Baron Rouge, 1 Rue Théophile Roussel, Paris, France

Finish with a French wine tasting at a neighborhood wine bar. Ask for regional recommendations and pair a modest glass with a small plate instead of a full expensive dinner.

Day 5 — Versailles Royal Residence & Gardens

Give Versailles a full day, as recommended, and reserve full-access admission in advance. Use the RER connection from Paris and wear supportive shoes because the palace and grounds are extensive.

  1. Versailles Château Rive Gauche StationVersailles Château Rive Gauche Station, Versailles, France

Take the RER C toward Versailles-Rive Gauche and walk from the station to the palace. Check the day’s service status before leaving because rail works can change routes.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  2. Palace of VersaillesPalace of Versailles, Versailles, France

Reserve full-access admission and start with the State Apartments and Hall of Mirrors before the largest tour groups arrive. Allow several hours for the interiors.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  3. Gardens of VersaillesGardens of Versailles, Place d'Armes, Versailles, France

  4. Grand TrianonGrand Trianon, Versailles, France

Continue to the Grand Trianon if included with your ticket for a quieter architectural contrast to the main palace. Confirm access hours at the entrance.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  5. The Queen's HamletHameau de la Reine, Versailles, France

Visit the Queen’s Hamlet for a rural-looking counterpoint to court grandeur. It is a longer walk from the palace, so use the estate shuttle if operating and your ticket allows it.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  6. Versailles Château Rive Gauche StationVersailles Château Rive Gauche Station, Versailles, France

Return to central Paris by rail and keep dinner simple after the long walking day. A bakery sandwich or pastry is a practical way to protect the budget.

Day 6 — Flexible Finale: Disneyland Paris or Slow Paris

Use this final day according to priorities. Disneyland Paris is the source-backed family and Disney option; if that is not your mission, stay in the city for a slower final day and avoid peak-event crowds.

  1. Disneyland ParisDisneyland Paris, Marne-la-Vallée, France

Choose the park only if you genuinely want a full Disney day. It is about 32 kilometres east of Paris; admission commonly ranges from €60–€120, and advance booking is sensible.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  2. Place des VosgesPlace des Vosges, Paris, France

If staying in Paris, revisit whichever central district felt most compelling and focus on independent cafés, galleries, and everyday street life rather than another timed attraction.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  3. Café de FloreCafé de Flore, 172 Boulevard Saint-Germain, Paris, France

Take a final café breakfast with a croissant, baguette, or pastry and compare prices before ordering; central cafés can be significantly more expensive than bakeries.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  4. Châtelet–Les Halles StationChâtelet–Les Halles Station, Paris, France

Use the Metro rather than taxis when construction or congestion slows the surface streets. Keep a small amount of flexibility for station closures and validate your route in the official transit app.

Watch the source moment on YouTube ↗
  5. Quai de SeineQuai de Seine, Paris, France

If you missed it earlier, make a final riverbank walk near the Louvre and Orsay before departure. The route offers one last concentrated view of Paris’s history without another admission fee.

  6. RoissyBus Opéra StopRoissyBus Opéra Stop, Paris, France

For departure, choose the airport transfer based on luggage and budget: RER B for light luggage, Roissy bus if staying near Opéra, or a taxi/rideshare for heavy bags and door-to-door convenience.
