Plan notes
Useful context before you go
This compact, source-faithful Shenzhen plan is best followed as a fast city-and-food circuit. The route combines Huaqiangbei’s electronics markets, Nanshan’s premium retail and art spaces, and Dongmen’s street-food energy. The creator used high-speed rail from Guangzhou, DiDi for hotel transfers, and Shenzhen’s clean, convenient, inexpensive subway for movement around the city. The described stay also included an evening massage and a final-morning DiDi transfer toward the Hong Kong border, but the massage venue, hotel, McDonald’s branch, and border crossing were not named and are therefore not mapped as places.
Itinerary highlights
What is in this plan
Day 1 — Electronics, Nanshan Retail, Dongmen Street Food & Departure
This is a high-density 24-hour route. Begin near Huaqiangbei, move to Nanshan for lunch and contemporary retail-art spaces, then finish in Dongmen for street food. Use the subway for the major city transfers, as it was described as convenient, clean, cheap, and reliable. The final morning is intentionally brief because the journey continues toward the Hong Kong border.

Huaqiangbei Commercial StreetHuaqiangbei Commercial Street, Futian District, Shenzhen, China
Start here after checking in. Huaqiangbei Commercial Street spreads across multiple large malls and is known for electronics and hardware ranging from raw microchips to phones and drones. It is the strongest stop in this plan for browsing Shenzhen’s electronics scene and looking for good-value technology.

Pause for lunch at Liyuan inside the shopping-mall area after Huaqiangbei. The meal included squab, several dim sum dishes, and a cute dessert trio, making this the most substantial sit-down food stop in the route.
-
MixC WorldMixC World, 9668 Shennan Avenue, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, China
Take the subway to this large Nanshan lifestyle and retail complex. MixC World combines premium shopping, public art spaces, and dining, so it works as the transition from market-style electronics browsing to Shenzhen’s more polished contemporary side.
-
MixC WorldMixC World, 9668 Shennan Avenue, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, China
Visit this flagship House Nowhere location within MixC World for its large-scale experiential presentation of fashion, immersive sci-fi sculptures, and art installations. The space occupies nearly 7,000 square meters across three floors, so allow time to explore rather than treating it as a quick shop.

Use the central plaza as a clear meeting point and photo stop. Its defining feature is a giant 30-ton elephant sculpture, which provides a memorable visual anchor within the complex.
-
Dongmen Pedestrian StreetDongmen Pedestrian Street, Luohu District, Shenzhen, China
Make this the evening shopping-and-wandering leg. Dongmen is one of Shenzhen’s busiest shopping districts, with endless shops, busy streets, trendy clothing, souvenirs, and a strong atmosphere for simply soaking up the city’s energy.

Eat your way through the stalls at Dongmen Food Street. The sampled dishes included Shaanxi liangpi, a cold and bouncy rice-noodle-sheet wrap with spicy, tangy, garlicky sauce; chicken wings stuffed with sticky rice; and oyster pancakes. For drinks, look for fresh sugarcane juice or coconut milk.
