Plan notes

Useful context before you go

This is a source-faithful two-week route focused on Bangkok, Khao Sok, Krabi, and the quieter Koh Yao islands rather than trying to cover all of Thailand. Use the Bangkok heat strategy throughout: explore early, rest during the hottest part of the afternoon, then go out again in the late day. Pre-book major airport and regional transfers where possible, especially the taxi from Surat Thani Airport to Khao Sok. For island day trips, accept that famous locations such as Maya Beach will not be empty; early departures reduce the worst crowds. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, swimwear, dry bags, reusable water bottles, snacks for quieter beaches, and modest clothing for temple visits. Creator-linked accommodation, tours, transfers, and booking resources are available through the plan interface.

What is in this plan

Days 1-2 Bangkok arrival and city contrasts

Stay near a BTS connection if possible. Explore before breakfast, retreat for a midday siesta and pool break, then resume sightseeing in the late afternoon.

  1. Suvarnabhumi AirportSuvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan, Thailand

Use the official taxi rank after customs; tell staff your hotel name so the driver has the destination clearly. Metered fares are usually 400-600 baht, with traffic potentially making the ride 40 minutes to 1.5 hours.

  2. Phaya Thai StationPhaya Thai Station, Bangkok, Thailand

The Airport Rail Link reaches Phaya Thai in about 30 minutes; tickets are around 45 baht and this is the practical alternative to road traffic.

  3. Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn BangkokEastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand

The Eastin's panorama rooms, rooftop pools, Karma pool, breakfast buffet, and direct skywalk connection to the BTS make it especially convenient for a heat-conscious stay.

  4. Sathorn PierSathorn Pier, Bangkok, Thailand

Take a commuter boat from Sathorn Pier toward Wat Arun for a cheap, local-feeling river journey rather than choosing only a narrated sightseeing cruise.

  5. Wat Arun Ratchawararam RatchaworamahawihanBangkok Riverside, Thailand

Arrive early to avoid the strongest heat. Wat Arun's riverside setting and central spire are the visual highlights; admission is 200 baht and shoulders and knees should be covered.

  6. MBK CenterMBK Center, Bangkok, Thailand

Use MBK's food court for an inexpensive lunch with many stalls. The mall is also amusing for tourist goods, although it is not the strongest choice for proper clothing.

  7. Khao San RoadTalad Yod, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok

Visit for the dependable evening party atmosphere, but expect a polished backpacker strip rather than an especially authentic Thai neighborhood.

  8. Lumphini ParkLumphini Park, Bangkok, Thailand

Use the park as a gentler morning option and keep a respectful distance from the monitor lizards, which are generally harmless unless cornered.

Days 3-4 Khao Sok jungle and lake

Fly south to Surat Thani, then arrange the onward taxi before arrival. Base either in the village for jungle trekking or in the town where lake boats depart.

Days 5-9 Ao Nang and the Krabi island circuit

Book an affordable base here rather than an expensive resort, since most days will be spent on beaches and excursions.

Days 10-12 Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai decompression

Move to either Koh Yao Noi or Koh Yao Yai for a slower contrast with Ao Nang. Koh Yao Noi is quieter and less touristy; Koh Yao Yai is somewhat more developed and suits a resort-centered reset.

  1. Koh Yao NoiKoh Yao Noi, Phang Nga, Thailand

Choose Koh Yao Noi for a genuinely calm island stay with fewer tourists and unhurried beach days.
