Plan notes
Useful context before you go
This is a source-faithful, resort-and-boat itinerary built around a social group trip, sailing, snorkeling, swimming, beach bars, creator-friendly photography, and standout meals. Base yourself at Scrub Island Resort and Marina for the land-based portion, allowing time for the resort's villa, pool, marina, restaurants, gym, convenience center, and ferry access. Pack several swimsuits, reef-safe sunscreen, a dry bag, snorkel gear, lightweight layers, water shoes, a hat, a book for boat transfers, and a dry outfit for evenings. Bring a camera and tripod for sunset portraits, but expect fast-changing weather: rain interrupted the first sunset attempt and clouds later created dramatic light. Sunset is around 6:15 p.m., but mountainous terrain can make usable light disappear earlier, so be ready well before then. Drone use requires authorization; secure permission before launching rather than taking off casually. The itinerary includes a 16-hour arrival and a long departure involving water taxis, customs, and multiple flights, so build in patience and generous connection time.

Use the first two days to recover from the unusually long arrival, settle into the villa, and keep plans flexible around rain. Scrub Island works well as a social base because the resort, marina, pool, restaurants, beach, and ferry dock are all close together.
