Plan notes

Useful context before you go

This is a resort-focused, four-day stay with three nights, matching the trip described by the creators. The reported rate was $485 per night; confirm current pricing and any room-upgrade terms directly before booking. If an upgrade is promised, keep written documentation and raise any discrepancy at check-in. The creators describe tipping as optional but customary: about $1–$2 per bar drink and for buffet dining staff, $2–$5 per day for housekeeping, and $5–$10 per à la carte meal. Staff prefer pesos but will accept U.S. dollars. Bring shoes suitable for the French restaurant: plastic flip-flops were not accepted. Reserve ahead for the Japanese restaurant’s hibachi and for the French restaurant; the sushi bar and steakhouse did not require reservations during the stay. Fresh juices at the Pure Bar are available until noon, and the healthy smoothie bar also closes at noon. The resort includes family areas and adults-only pools, beach sections, and lounges, so check the venue’s access rules as you go.

What is in this plan

Day 1 — Check-In, Resort Orientation & Beachside Evening

Start by settling into the suite, then orient yourself around the pools, lobby, and restaurant area before heading to the beach. The resort’s Fourth of July party and firework show occurred during the creators’ stay; treat that event as date-specific rather than a daily offering.

  1. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The stay included VIP check-in. The creators had to show documentation to resolve a promised room upgrade, so keep any upgrade confirmation available. Their Mirage Club suite had a large bathroom, dual sinks and showers, a coffee and tea station, minibar, workspace, terrace, and a rooftop plunge pool.

  2. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The plunge-pool suite’s upper-level pool was the creators’ favorite room feature, with ocean views. They were staying in July and said the private pool was appealing in the heat.

  3. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The foam party took place at the family-friendly pool. The creators arrived on a Saturday; party timing may depend on the resort schedule.

  4. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

For the first lunch, the beachfront buffet offered sushi, ceviche, pizza, and freshly grilled steak tacos. The creators chose shaded outdoor seating with a breeze and sea views.

  5. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The creators went to the fifth floor of Building 2 for an overview of the property, including the family pool, adults-only pool, seaside restaurant, beach, and beach bar.

  6. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Explore the two-story lobby, which has a bar on each floor. The upper piano bar serves coffee drinks and hosted tea time during the creators’ visit; they enjoyed the iced coconut oat latte and macarons, while finding the tea-time snacks average.

  7. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The resort square brings together the steakhouse, Mexican restaurant, sports bar, coffee shop, shops, church, and outdoor stage for theater shows. The creators also noted that the Indian restaurant was closed on their first dinner evening.

  8. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Stop at the beach bar before it closes for the day. The creators ordered a mezcal drink and noted that the resort was setting up a larger Fourth of July beach celebration.

  9. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The steakhouse did not require a reservation during the creators’ visit and allowed shorts and flip-flops. Dishes they tried included empanadas, beef broth, grilled octopus, Chilean sea bass, steak, and sides of tahini cream corn, mushrooms, and tomatoes. They especially liked the octopus, broth, fish, and steak.

  10. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The Fourth of July beach festivities included a fire show, fireworks, and a DJ. This was a special event during the creators’ stay, not a regular nightly guarantee.

Day 2 — Coffee, Pools, Beach & Specialty Dining

Use the cooler morning hours for coffee and the fresh-juice or smoothie bars, which the creators said close at noon. Beach loungers and Bali beds were first come, first served and did not cost extra during their stay.

  1. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Try café de olla, the traditional Mexican coffee the creators picked up here and said they would order again. The coffee shop was their first stop that morning.

  2. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The healthy bar, also called Pure Bar later in the stay, serves smoothies and fresh juices until noon. The creators liked the Big Red smoothie with watermelon, strawberry, and lemon, as well as a custom orange, pineapple, and passion-fruit blend.

  3. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The poolside lunch buffet lets you eat without leaving the pool area. The creators also picked up ribs there, describing a charred exterior and a sauce that was not too sweet.

  4. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The Italian restaurant served breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the creators’ stay; lunch did not require a reservation and was adults-only. They tried ham croquetas, mussels, forest salad, shrimp, and brick-oven Mexican pizza. They especially liked the croquetas and pizza and suggested trying a traditional Italian pizza next time.

  5. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The creators found the specialty coffee drinks at the piano bar on the lobby’s second floor better than those at the coffee shop. One tried a Mayan Frappuccino at the coffee shop and disliked its black-licorice-like flavor; the hot caramel latte at the piano bar was a hit.

  6. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Choose a shaded lounger or Bali bed in one of the adults-only beach sections. The creators said the Bali beds around the pools and beach were first come, first served and included without an extra charge during their stay.

  7. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The water was turquoise with moderate waves and some seaweed near the shore; the creators said it cleared farther out. They also spotted jet skiers and parasailors. The property’s beach had adults-only sections at both ends and a family section in the middle.

  8. Majestic Elegance Costa MujeresMajestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Walk the boardwalk path connecting the property with its sister resort, Majestic Elegance. The creators followed it to the far north end of the neighboring property, where they found a beach bar with a similar alcohol selection.

  9. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The Japanese restaurant’s sushi bar accepted walk-ins during the creators’ visit, while the hibachi show required an advance reservation. They ordered the Rainbow, Tokyo Iramaki, Dragon’s Kiss, and eel crepe rolls; the sushi was not exceptional but was better than they expected for an all-inclusive.

  10. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The Indian restaurant surprised the creators with its atmosphere, service, and food. They especially recommended malai kofta, Kashmiri rice, butter chicken, and naan; they would skip the saag aloo next time.

Day 3 — Adults-Only Pool, Water Park & Casual Resort Dining

The water park is at the edge of the property and includes slides, bars, food, and a lazy river. The creators found the lazy river shallow and busy with children, but noticed quieter small areas off to the sides. They also noted that room-service delivery took much longer than the estimate they received.

  1. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The international buffet was open for breakfast during the creators’ stay and had a good selection. They also stopped at the adults-only pool and Pure Bar for watermelon juice with tajín; one drink was made with rum.

  2. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The creators found many swim-up bars around the property but said several felt similar. Their favorite was Pure Bar for fresh juice, available until noon; they also noted that one bar near the foam-party pool was larger.

  3. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The water park had five or six slides, several bars including a swim-up bar, a lazy river, and food such as burgers, fries, and chicken tenders. The creators found it larger than expected and especially appealing for families.

  4. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The lazy river at the water park was shallow and lively with children. The creators mentioned quieter little spots along the sides if you want a calmer place to float.

  5. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Try the enclosed slide as well as the open slides; the creators described the enclosed one as fast. The water-park swim-up bar also served blended chocolate drinks and candy, with a kid-heavy crowd during their visit.

  6. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

When the room-service pizza was significantly delayed, the creators switched to the sports bar. They ordered a steak burger, birria tacos, and wings; all were good, though not exceptional. They also noted that food could be ordered at the sports bar around the clock.

  7. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The creators had ordered pizza through their butler and were told to expect it in about 40–45 minutes, but it took much longer. Room-service food was delivered through a box attached to the room, allowing contactless delivery. They improvised a floating dessert in the private pool after the pizza arrived.

  8. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

At least two adults-only lounges were mentioned. One had a refrigerator stocked with beer and soda, occasional bottled juices, and Indio beer; it stayed open until 11 p.m. during the creators’ visit.

Day 4 — French Dinner, Final Coffee & Departure

Keep a change of shoes handy for the French restaurant, and make a reservation in advance. Bowling was not complimentary during the creators’ visit and cost $70 per hour; confirm current pricing before considering it. Finish with coffee at the lobby piano bar before checkout.

  1. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Bowling was considered as a way to pass time before dinner, but the creators found it cost $70 per hour and was not complimentary. Check current pricing before deciding whether to play.

  2. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Return to the piano bar for coffee cocktails or a drink. The creators praised the coffee here and one ordered a rum Old Fashioned made with Havana Club.

  3. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

A white party was taking place on the beach during the creators’ stay, but they expected it to end before their dinner. Check the resort schedule rather than assuming this event is offered every night.

  4. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The French restaurant required a reservation. One guest was turned away in plastic flip-flops and had to change shoes; wear footwear that meets the restaurant’s current dress code. The creators enjoyed the mushroom soup, French onion soup, duck, cheesy quinoa side, crème brûlée, and pistachio cannoli, while finding one steak dry.

  5. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

The creators returned to the piano bar for one last rum Old Fashioned after dinner. The lobby bar was also their preferred place for resort coffee.

  6. Majestic Mirage Costa MujeresMajestic Mirage Costa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Before leaving, the creators packed up and returned to their favorite piano-barista for coffee, saying the in-room coffee did not compare. Take a final look at the lower-level balcony and ocean views before checkout.
