Plan notes
Useful context before you go
A practical guide to the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa and the nearby Waikiki shoreline, not a day-by-day itinerary. During the reviewed stay, the $55-per-day resort fee plus tax included beach chairs, fitness classes, premium Wi-Fi and GoPro rentals. The reported parking rates were $65 per night plus tax for self-parking and $80 per night plus tax for valet. Treat these as rates from that stay, not current quotes; confirm fees and inclusions before booking. Check your room charges during the stay, especially for tracked towels or parking. The resort provides a reusable water bottle and refill stations on every floor.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and SpaHyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, Honolulu, Hawaii
The two-tower resort is directly across the street from Waikiki Beach. The reviewed ocean-view room had two queen beds, a balcony, mini fridge, safe, Japanese-style toilet and shower-tub combination. Consider a higher floor for a better view and less street noise; neighboring-room noise may still carry through the walls.

The resort pool is between the two towers on the third floor. It is small and basic but clean and well maintained, with loungers, a poolside restaurant and bar, and free sunscreen on the deck. Beach chairs included with the resort fee are available from 7:30 a.m. and should be returned by 9:00 p.m. Day pads and private cabanas cost extra. Towel stations use the electronic wristband to track towels; return them by the end of the day to avoid charges.
Coffee and breakfast at the resort
Kai Coffee is on the first floor; Shore, the resort’s main breakfast restaurant, is on the third floor. Allow extra time at Kai Coffee in the morning, when it can get busy. Shore has open-air seating overlooking Waikiki Beach and was described as a pricier breakfast option.

This first-floor café serves coffee drinks, breakfast and acai bowls. The creator tried a café mocha and a veggie breakfast wrap with eggs, vegetables and cheese. Morning waits can make a quick stop take longer, so leave extra time.

The resort’s main breakfast restaurant serves breakfast each morning on the third floor. Its open-air seating overlooks Waikiki Beach; expect a pricier meal than a quick café stop.
Waikiki Beach and calmer swimming
The hotel is across the street from the beach. The access point near the Duke Kahanamoku statue leads to a more wave-exposed stretch where surfers head out. Continue farther along the beach to reach a swimming area protected by rock barriers, with calmer, shallower water for swimming or floating. The beach can get crowded in the afternoon; arriving earlier may help you find a spot.
