Plan notes

Useful context before you go

Langkawi is Malaysia's premier duty-free tropical island, renowned for dramatic limestone karsts, dense rainforests, and vibrant coastlines. Getting around is simplest using the Grab ride-hailing app, which is affordable and widely accessible across the island; if opting to rent a scooter or car, ensure you carry an International Driving Permit (IDP). For packing, bring high-SPF reef-safe sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a wide-brim hat, lightweight breathable clothing, and personal hygiene essentials for long day excursions. Most establishments accept credit cards without issues, but carrying a moderate amount of Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) in cash remains helpful for small beachside purchases. Remember that foreign travelers must complete the mandatory Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within three days prior to entering Malaysia.
