Plan notes

Useful context before you go

This four-day companion follows the shown stretch from Meta through Kyang to Phu, including two nights in Phu and the planned continuation toward Himlung Base Camp. It covers part of a longer trek, not a complete route itinerary. The trail can be cold and snowy, and the creator describes struggling to catch his breath at around 4,000 m. Supplies are carried into remote Phu by donkey, and prices there were described as especially high—even higher than at Everest Base Camp. Carry layers for changing weather, and check current trail conditions, permits, guide requirements and weather before setting out.

Kyang is the destination for this leg. Snow began falling as the hikers approached, after sunnier conditions earlier on the route.

Days 2–3: Phu Village and the hillside gompa

**Trail and village life:** Before hiking to Phu, breakfast was apple porridge, boiled eggs and milk tea. Along the trail, a guide explained that the local cattle stay small at high altitude; the animals were also heading toward Phu. The creator calls Phu the most remote area on this trek and describes struggling to catch his breath at around 4,000 m. Goods are carried in by donkeys, making prices especially high—even higher than at Everest Base Camp. **Stay and meals:** Tashi Hotel was the bas…

  1. Phu VillagePhu Village, Nar Phu Valley, Nepal

Explore Phu's traditional stone houses and narrow lanes, including the two parts of the settlement divided by the suspension bridge. The temple has notable artwork, but it was closed during the visit. The hillside gompa lies across the valley; reaching it involves crossing the suspension bridge and climbing the hill.
