What is in this plan

Day 1: Kitakami to Kurikoma-Kōgen on the Tohoku Shinkansen

The Tohoku Shinkansen reaches speeds of up to 320 km/h. The E5’s 15-metre nose is designed to reduce pressure changes as it enters tunnels. From Ichinoseki, riding the train also offers a close sense of the vibration at speed; passengers can eat, drink, or work while travelling.

  1. Kitakami StationKitakami Station, Kitakami, Iwate, Japan

Watch Shinkansen trains rush past against a peaceful countryside setting. Station gates are often closed for safety, so check which platform areas are open and follow station directions.

  2. Ichinoseki StationIchinoseki Station, Ichinoseki, Iwate, Japan

Continue south to Ichinoseki Station and board a Shinkansen to experience the ride from inside. The creator demonstrates the vibration at speed; passengers can eat, drink, or work aboard. Check current service information and travel with a valid ticket.

  3. Kurikoma-Kōgen StationKurikoma-Kōgen Station, Kurihara, Miyagi, Japan

At Kurikoma-Kōgen Station, the creator found the passing trains especially intense because there are fewer barriers. Platform access and safety conditions can vary; watch only from an authorized position and obey station signage.
